Join us for an afternoon of storytelling from London's best raconteurs. Marking the beginning of their monthly residency at Mama's, the Embers kick off with a homage to the forgotten warrior women.
Pagan folklore is filled with stories of strong, fighting women and goddesses. In the British Isles, prior to the arrival of Christianity, women were worshipped as the harbingers of all life and were allowed to bear arms and become Druids. They were treated as men's equals and were honoured as much for their minds as for their bodies.
Expect stories of fighting women and goddesses from around the world accompanied by the multi-instrumental soundscapes of Tim Karp.
The Embers Collective are bringing back one of the oldest traditions we have, sharing myths, music and folk stories from around the world in an intimate and intriguing setting and style.
