Fasi Fasi translates from Luganda as ‘make way’, a phrase used by Ugandan traders weaving through the market crowds with bright baskets of goods on their heads. The traditional palm leaf woven basket, made by and relied on for thousands of years by East African women, has been replaced by a modern take - colourful, playful, and designed to last a lifetime. All the bags in this opening Fas Fas line are handmade by Ugandan women, woven from recycled pallet strapping used to secure goods shipped along the East African coast.
There are five designs in the range, all named after their Ugandan makers: the Joet, the Marie, the Gloria, the Rosette, and the Brenda.
